Sometimes the simplest ideas can make a big difference. Enter the Sling Sleeve, a straightforward yet highly effective tool for managing rifle slings. When storing your rifle or carbine, the Sling Sleeve easily manages the slack of the sling while still allowing for rapid deployment of the sling. It’s ideal in gun safes, on a rack, or in a vehicle.

I'm Chris Sizelove and this is Sling Sleeve. It’s a very simple idea that can produce a lot of great results if you employ it correctly or if you really have a need to manage your sling for vehicle applications, rifle rack applications, or if you just want to keep this big loopy thing managed and still have it managed in such a manner that you can employ it rapidly. Sling Sleeve is here for you. This is just a 5-inch piece of military-grade elastic that's been folded over. To use it or to install it, it's pretty simple stuff.
Step one, remove the rear of your sling, however that happens. This happens to be push-button, so it's easy. Take the rear of the sling off, slide your Sling Sleeve over whatever mounting hardware you have, and sling. Now all I'm going to do is reattach this to the rear of the rifle. Now that I have it on, it just kind of hangs out there when you're not employing it. But if I want to use it because I’m going to store the rifle, I’ve got it in a car, got it in a rifle rack, or even at my house in my gun safe when I have a bunch of guns and they all have slings and they’re all loose and wrapped around each other—it’s just a big pain. So Sling Sleeve really helps with that.
To use it, what I'm going to do is typically adjust the tensioner so it's all the way forward to make it as short as it’s going to be. Then z-fold the sling and slide the Sling Sleeve right over that portion that you z-folded, and now it's going to sit here just like this—nice and clean, easy. If I have to pick the rifle up, like if it’s in a vehicle or something like that, and I want to use it, support side hand to the sling, just pop it, and now I have my sling. The Sling Sleeve itself will slide around a little bit back there, but it won’t get in the way of the quick slide adjuster.
So, a very simple item that can absolutely help out, depending on how you manage your slings or how you’re storing your rifles, or a mixture of both. That’s the Sling Sleeve.
What is the Sling Sleeve?
The Sling Sleeve is a 5-inch piece of military-grade elastic that's been folded and stitched into a loop. This incredibly simple accessory sits out of the way on your sling but when needed, holds the sling tight and secure, preventing snag hazards.
How to Install the Sling Sleeve:
- Remove the rear of your sling from the rifle. If you have a Push Button, this only takes seconds.
- Slide the Sling Sleeve over the rear end of your sling and mounting hardware.
- Reattach the sling to the rear of the rifle.
When not in use, the Sling Sleeve simply hangs on the sling without interfering with normal operation. To employ it:
- Adjust the sling to its shortest length – if using a Vickers Sling or GMT Sling this mean to take all the slack out of the adjuster.
- Z-fold the sling.
- Slide the Sling Sleeve over the folded portion of the sling.
The durable elastic of the Sling Sleeve holds the sling in a neat bundle, safe and out of the way from getting tangled or caught on other gear.
Need to use your sling quickly? No problem. Simply grip the sling with your support hand and pull it out of the Sling Sleeve. The sleeve will slide off but remain on the sling and out of the way of the Quick Adjuster.
Whether you're a professional end-user or a prepared civilian, the Sling Sleeve is an inexpensive and simple accessory that should be present on all two-point slings for easy storage and rapid deployment capabilities.
